How It Works
Project ECHO seeks to increase the developmental and health knowledge of early childhood professionals and family members of children aged 0-8. Participants in each group meet separately online once a week for 1-hour sessions. Each session includes a mini workshop, a real-life case-based presentation and discussion of the case with input from peer professionals or family members, and early childhood specialists.
The mini workshop is presented by early childhood specialists (ex. social worker, child psychiatrist, etc.) about topics related to behavioral and developmental health issues of young children. Each participant in the family and professional group is provided an opportunity during the session to share a challenge involving a child with behavioral or developmental health issues. The participants receive immediate feedback, support, and resources from the specialists and fellow professionals or family members, depending on the group.
