Our Goals
- Increase developmental and behavioral health knowledge among early childhood professionals and families.
- Create a sustainable system for early childhood developmental and behavioral health professional and family learning.
- Measure outcomes of the work and offer our evaluation model to other ECHO projects engaged in early childhood developmental and behavioral health support.
By scaling up the effort, the expected outcome is to increase developmental and behavioral health expertise among EC professionals and families. Additionally, through the expanded ECHO projects, we will connect even more types of rural care providers and caregivers (e.g., Social Workers, Early Interventionists, and Families) to telementoring resources.
We will evaluate how the program is implemented in the early childhood community and examine changes at the professional and family level to demonstrate the impact of the Project ECHO model to inform future work. Ultimately, the goal is to create a rigorous, cost-effective, and sustainable system for online learning that meets the needs of rural Mississippi families and communities.
Project ECHO is a unique online experience designed to empower families and early childhood professionals with valuable resources and knowledge in child development and behavior. It is an opportunity to engage with early childhood specialists (e.g., social workers, psychologists, education, and health experts) to get immediate answers and enhance understanding of early childhood development to better serve young children.
